Garments: Hand Woven, Hand Knit, & Block Island Made
North Light Fibers is proud to create beautiful garments from our hand spun exotic yarns of fibers such as baby alpaca, camel, silk, soy silk, buffalo and merino wool. From these blends of exotic fibers, we are able to create beautiful garments such as handwoven scarves, lace weight shawls, baby alpaca gloves, alpaca socks, and hand knit hats from Block Island.
Our garments are hand woven and hand knit here on Block Island and by our partners. We have formed some very strong relationships with Kathy Ward in Newport, Peggy Hart in Massachusetts, The Hartford Artisan Weaving Center whose weavers are blind, visually impaired or senior citizens, and Women-for-Women, which helps women in war torn communities learn how to run a business and establish economic independence. We are philosophically well aligned with all of our partners as we develop new handwoven scarves, hand knit hats, alpaca fingerless gloves, lace weight silk blend wristlets, and shawls.
Not only are your supporting Block Island with your purchases, but you are helping others through organizations like Women-for-Women and the Hartford Artisan Weaving Center. We are also developing new garments such as our alpaca fingerless gloves, handwoven scarves, blended wraps and shawls - all made of soft and warms blended yarns for your comfort.
