North Light Fibers is a small mini mill where we produce different blended yarns from exotic fibers such as alpaca, yak, bamboo, camel and soy silk. In our mill, we produce a range of yarn weights, from lace /fingering yarns all the way to super chunky and rug yarn. While we first started the mill in 2009, we have moved to Spring Street and have built a full working mill and store. In fact, we are located in the middle of the animal farm and are surrounded by alpacas, camels, yaks and other fantastic and exotic fiends – please know that you will need to walk through the alpacas to get here. Come and feed the alpacas and see the mill. Tours are given at 10am everyday of the week except Sunday when they are offered at 12pm.

"North Light Fibers is one of the most complete mills in North America" states Jeff Birtwistle from Belfast Mini Mills as we take the fiber from Shearing To Skeins. We tumble, wash, pick, dye, dehair, card, spin, ply and finish all the yarns here at the mill and invite you to see and learn more about our process.

Laura, Paige, Karyn, Renate and I all look forward to giving you a tour of the mill so you can see exactly where your yarn comes from and how much care we put into each skein. Please call us at 401-4662050 or e-mail us with questions. We know you will love Block Island and North Light Fibers.......
